Edouard was born and grew up in Haiti. He accepted the Lord as a teenager in a neighborhood Bible club, where he developed his leadership skills. Sensing the Lord’s call, he came to the US to prepare for the ministry. Then he returned to Haiti, where he served as a pastor, educator, and development worker for 17 years. During that time, Edouard and his wife Gina founded a church and a Christian school. He also served as National Director for Compassion International’s ministry in Haiti. Since 2007, Edouard has served as the Vice President of the Latin America and Caribbean Region at Compassion International. Compassion is a Christian, holistic child development organization that works alongside local churches in 29 countries to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name. As Vice President of the Latin America & Caribbean region, Edouard oversees the ministry of Compassion in 12 countries, partnering with over 3,000 churches and ministering to over one million children and youth. Edouard holds a bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Bible Education, a master’s degree (M.S) in School Administration, and a master’s degree (M.A.) in Organizational Leadership. He recently completed a doctor’s degree in Global Leadership (D.G.L.), where he studied the process of developing prophetic leaders in Haiti. But all titles aside, Edouard best describes himself as a “passionate advocate of the local church”, believing it as the greatest force to change the course of every form of human suffering and poverty our world is experiencing. In collaboration with Compassion Haiti, he launched (in 2010) and continues to lead the Movement for the Prophetic Role of the Church in Haiti, which seeks to mobilize the church for spiritual renewal and social transformation of the country. Edouard is also an Affiliate Professor of Leadership at Fuller Theological Seminary in their doctoral program. Edouard and his wife Gina recently celebrated 35 years of marriage. The couple is blessed with 3 adult children and 6 grandchildren.
